Connect 2 PC's by LAN ?

Hi all

Quick question - I have 2 PC's, one on XP Home the other on XP Pro. I have a load of files on the Home one that need to transfer to the Pro PC. They sit next to each other so can I connect them using a LAN cable, or would I need to do something else.

Also once it's all connected, is it as easy as drag and drop to shift them all over?

many thanks

I would use a USB network cable between the two PCs as it's faster than a standard network cable - here's an example click here (there are cheaper ones & also check eBay).

A setup guide can be found at click here.

Do NOT connect your PCs with a standard A-A USB cable (like click here) - it must be a special 'networking' one only. G

Do you have a router that one or both are connected to, if yes then you can do what you asked.

Thanks all - will invest in the required cable.

Much appreciated
