I have found that since installing the service pack 2 I cannot access microsoft help files. I didn't realze there was a problem until i installed a microsoft wireless optical desktop elite and when i tried to access the user help files the message read cannot open mk:MSITStore:c:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftIntellitypePro\ithelp.chm since then I have consulted the Timy shop and the guy found that none of the help files can be accessed. He has suggested it is something to do with xp service pack 2 and other updates not being compatable???? I am a novice but he wasn't helpful..has anyone had the same problems or has anyone got any helpful ideas/cures please

You could try removing SP2 click here and see if that cures the problem.

If you cannot read any help files then maybe one of your services is switched off. Type

services.msc

in the run box press enter

Scroll down to help and support and highlight it, right click select properties .

Startup Type change box to Automatic

Service staotus click start

then click apply.

You may then need to rebbot before the effects take place. Help files should now be readable.
