configuring php.ini in XAMPP to allow sessions

i have a problem setting php.ini to to allow the use of sessions. when i set my temp ditectory to c:/temp in the session.save_path = I still get en error when i create sessions in my browser. it says, "warning: session_start()[function.session-start]: Can not send session cache limiter - headers already sent" followed by where the output started. can you help me on how to configure the php.ini, and wchich php.in to configure! i am using XAMPP.

i am junior programmer and i am not good at this yet, please assist me.
