Computers not appearing in "Workgroup"

On my network, a peer to peer,I can see both computers in "View workgroup computers", and have no problems with File and Printer sharing. On my daughter's network, again a peer to peer, only one computer is shown. Host on host and Client on client. I am unable to set up printer sharing, on my daughter's network, and wonder if it is because both computers are not "seen".
Any help would be appreciated by this "wrinkly" surfer.

Does your daughter have any Firewall software installed that hasn't been configured correctly to allow the networked computers to communicate?

Thanks for quick response.
PC has MacAfee, Laptop has Norton. Both configured to allow traffic from 192.168.0.1 (the PC) to 192.168.0.250, and Laptop set for 192.168.0.1 as Server.
