Computer's IP address/Zone Alarm-Trusted Zone

Apologies for a novice's question (I am probably missing something obvious)

I have an Orange Livebox wired to a desktop and Madame has her laptop connected wirelessly. I am in the process of trying to get both computers to share files and a printer. Also, I am using Zone Alarm and assuming I need to set each computer's trusted zone to accept the other machine, how/where do I find the IP address of the laptop?
The Livebox configuration/settings shows the desktop address as 192.168.1.24 but for "Devices Connected" it shows the name of the laptop correctly but the address as a string of pairs of letters & figures separated by colons.

Computerboy,
Thanks for your reply. I'll try your suggestions this evening. (Naively, I thought that I would be able to "see" the laptop on the desktop via the Livebox)
