Computer siezes up

I have an Acer computer running Adobe CS3
Just recently the machine keeps seizing up when I am in the middle of working on something. The curser does not move (The mouse has no effect) and all I can do is force a shut down and restart.
All is well for a while and then it happens again.
Any ideas on this please?

hello.

generally speaking, i would start with the ram, hard drive and then video card. either they have or are developing faults. or they are succumbing to the demands you are putting them through. that is generally speaking.

if you provide the systems specifications of your acer, we might be able to narrow our list of the usual suspects, heat buildup being the primary.

Or it could simply be that your mouse needs a new battery.

Thanks for your help, but the culprit was a USB hub.
I have now swapped to another one and all is well. We live and learn as they say.
