i have an nec p111 500mhz approx 4 years old. would anyone have any ideas what causes my computer to go bang like a short circuit across the speakers and then go into reboot and scandisk mode.
This happens every couple of days. i run trend virus checker and the registry checker but have not got a clue what would cause this. I have upgraded the computer to 364mb of mem, a new samsung 40gb disk, a new soundblaster 5.1 card and a 4port belkin usb 2.0 card plus a belkin wireless keyboard and mouse. Could it possibly be one of these items? HELP PLEASE

Probably sounds like a power problem I'm not sure. How many Watts of power is the PSU in your computer? Also does it get very hot inside the PC and get full of dust as well?
