Computer shut-down

When I shut down my computer, Windows closes down OK but the computer doesn't switch itself off. This has only started happening in the last couple of days. It has never happened before. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for trying Diodorus Siculus but I searched where you suggested but could not find any reference to APM/NT legacy node or the "set to auto powerdown" feature. I've also searched in every place I can think of to try and resolve this irritating issue but have had no luck so far. The annoyiny thing is that my computer only started doing this during this past week. I didn't make this change so the machine must have somehow changed this setting without my permission!

APM/NT legacy node or the "set to auto powerdown

have a look in the BIOS for power management settings.
