Computer settings so Kindle can connect to network

Hi folks,

I have just bought a Kindle from Amazon (ebook reader) but am having considerable difficulty getting it to connect to my network.

As we have our network set to "hide" we have to enter in the network name and password manually. However, even when the Kindle then shows the name of our network - and even when the signal strength is at full, for some reason we keep getting an error message saying that the Kindle could not connect to the wi-fi.

Does anybody know about Kindles and connecting them up to your computer network? Our router details are; Gigaset SE587 WLAN dsl

Thank you.
