computer not booting up properly

im putting a pc together nothing special, its all connected rightly i think, i turned it on and begins to boot, but on the boot screen where it detects the hard drive it says

primary master detected st3845778

and thats where the screen stays

any ideas

is the drive? Is it a SATA drive?

Have you set the jumper as Master or Slave?

Which motherboard are you using?

no the drive is ide connected, the jumper is set to master and the board is a gigabyte 7iex4

What else is connected on the IDE cables?

next stage is secondary drive or cd etc any thing on there? remove and try again or maybe bios prob
