Have upgraded computer wth following parts biostar P4VTB-A02 socket 478 motherboard/intel pentium 4 2.66 GHz processor/512 kingston ram will overclock to 3.00 GHz o/k as 2-7400 rpm hard drives fitted'
As locked up after both quick and slow full hard drive formats after windows XP operating system loaded no other software as been loaded so it isnot a incompatible software fault,
sometimes will run for several hours without locking up when all system software loaded have loaded latest motherboard drivers and all loaded software is compatible with windows XP??

Have you tried with the side of the computer

  ricpat 21:36 24 Mar 04

Have no idea what you mean by side of computer???

So it gets more ventilation, It may be overheating you could also point a table fan into the computer to help cool it. If it works you know then, that you need to do something to bring the heat down

Also a PSU that does not provide enough power will have the same effect

Will try PSU from one of other two computers and see if this makes any difference thanks ric
