Is it possible to get the data from my desktop computer to my laptop using a double male usb cable instead of a parallel or serial cable.
Also, do i need a program to be able to do this?

Laptop is 1.2ghz amd running Windows XP
Desktop is 1.0 ghz amd running Windows ME

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for you contribution.Well it looks like i need a driver reading into this ad'.
I will search for that first. Thanks.

If you look further down the page on the above link, you will find you can download the driver from that site. It will be specific for that cable.

You have no doubt seen, there is some sort of electronics packaged into the cable.

As far as I am aware, that is all that is needed to get your USB network up and running.

Thanks lastchip.

I was wondering if it could be done with just a usb A-A connection (just an ordinary cable)?

USB has to recognize a "device", and just a cable doesn't fall into that category. Hence, the electronic "box of tricks" in the cable.
