My Dell Laptop works fine when I use the Audio function from the Computer but when I plug my headphones in I get nothing!
I have been away for over a week and on switching on my Laptop have got this problem...it worked fine before. Any help will be greatly received.
Thanks,
Irene

Do the 'phones still work when you plug them into something else?

My thoughts are that the sound set up needs tweeking, double click the speaker icon in the taskbar and check that its not muted for the headset socket (volume mixer-vista)

Thank you for your replies. I am on XP. I have checked the Speaker settings and none of the mute boxes is ticked and the Volumes are on Max.
I have tried another headset which I know is working but I get nothing!

Try a System Restore back to when it did work.
