computer freeze

I have a Pentium 4, 3.2Ghz, 512mb Ram running Windows XP, My problem is it keeps freezing, and i have to turn it off and start all over again.
Any one know a easy way to fix this please

Clean out all the crap with click here

Run check disk.

Disable System Restore and run full AV and anti-malware scans. Re-enable System Restore.

Could be any number of problems - overheating and software conflicts are two frequent causes.

Run sfc: click here
scannow sfc - how to use SFC.EXE (system file checker)

Also clear out temp files with, for example, ccleaner from click here

if you have the xp disk i suggest running system file check, start/run sfc /scannow and insert disk when asked to.
