I have just attempted to downgrade my processor from athlon 1g to duron 800 but it wouldn,t boot.
M/Board in use is V266B and ram ddr2100 at 256 mb. Have tried various settings for FSB speeds and clk speeds but to no avail. Is there n e way i can check chip definitely works somehow?
Any help appreciated

the 800 might only be rated for 100 fsb speed and your board might not go that low.

Your board will definatley take a 800 duron. I have a 1 gig in mine.

It has a 100\133 fsb and clock multiplier from 5.0 to 12.5.

You do have a jumper on JP4 on the motherboard, so it will run at 100mhz?

Probably the easiest way to do it is to clear the cmos by moving the jbat jumper to the right, with the machine turned off, for 10 seconds.

Hope this helps you.
