The computer died. Help needed for repair options

Hello, my dad's computer suddenly stopped working. The screen went fuzzy and white lines appeared then it just stalled. I switched it off then on again and just got two loud beeps and no picture or boot options. The monitor just looked like it was switched off. I think it is the graphics card...

The system

Motherboard : GA-8S648
Videocard : Nvidia Geforce4 mx 440 (64mb)
Memory : 256mb ddr - 400mhz
Windows 98

I opened the case and the videocard and its agp slot were covered in dust.

Would I be right in thinking that I

1. I just need to replace the graphics card?
2. Or, has the whole motherboard failed. How do you find out?
3. How do I know how big a graphics card I can get for it to work?

-I am not sure what processor it had

I hope someone can help

Thanks

Ben

Have you tried just re-seating the graphic card. Often the contacts get dirty and just pulling the card out anc pushing back again solves it.

The beeps sound like the POST check.(Power On System Test)
Check which BIOS you have and then the beep codes
