Im running win xp home and i was thinking about trying to create more space on my HDD. is it possible to commpressing os files?

I don't know if its possible, but even if it is, it must slow the computer down while the files are decompressed. Surely with the ow price of hard drives these days, a second hard drive for your saved files would be a better choice.
