Compressing Files

Can anyone help, a friend abroad needs help compressing a file that he created using 3D Multi animation software, it's 6,000kb but needs to email it so it's a more resonable size.... this is what he used to save the file......
i used 3d studio max
rendered each frame as a targa image file
took these images to
adobe premier
then went to sound forge
made the sounds brought the sounds also to
adobe premier
and mixed them
then exported as a movie using divx compressor
codec.....they are now in 'avi' format... any help would be appreciated...Neil.

what O/S does your friend have?

If it is Windows XP then it has its compression system

to compress, right click on the item that you want compressed and then click on send to then compress

To demonstrate,I've just taken my Access database of tracks in my CD collection[uncompressed 44.1mb].

Using Winzip it becomes 3.57mb

Using Winrar it becomes 1.36mb

After compressing a file with WinZip can I send it as an attachment?

Yes - if it's smaller than your email provider's attachment limit.
