Compress a file

I need to compress a 35mb folder to a 20mb or less. Does anyone know any free software that will do the job? Because I only need it once so I don't need to buy anything.

Thank you rawprawn,
but it just compressed it to 26mb. I need it to be 20mb or less.
Any other software in mind?

I really don't know, I guess it's just something you have to try. Another suggestion click here but after that I'm sorry I have no idea.

Have you tried a right-click on the folder and then on Send to; and then on Compressed zipped folder. The zipped folder should then appear in your My Pictures folder if they are pictures, or in your My Documents folder if they are other data-types.

I have done this many times when sending Folders containing lots of Photos, which I then send via email as Attachment.

I have just experimented doing it the way I have suggested above - I reduced a 35Mb folder down to 16Mb in its zipped form.
