Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec

  wester john 14:44 22 Mar 04

I get this message when opening up any MS Office programme, eg Word or Excel. The programme still opens but I get the same message when closing the programme.
Any clues how to cure this please?

If windows '98 or above you don't really need the Autoexec.bat file
In Windows explorer at C:in the right pane you will find Autoexec.bat (may have to unhide system files) you can right click the file and select edit to find out what is in there - and report back
you could just rename the file Auotoexec.old
then reboot and see what happens - then it is easy enought to change name back .old to .bat
if things are not right -

Thanks. I use WIN 98 SE and at present Office 97. I'm not sure if the MS Knowledge base article applies to Office 97. It talks about Word 2000 and 2002 etc.
