Is there anyway to compare folders and their contents?

I seem to have lots of repeated fiels and folders on different partitions and don't want to delete them if they are not the same!!

This is just like Windows Explorer, but you an have two folders open side by side, for easy comparison.

Try to find yourself a copy of PowerDesk 4, it is free and available on many Magazine cover disks. In the tools menu it has a "Compare" which will list all duplicate files. You may find a copy to download in the PCA download section.

Update for you. PC Advisor Magazine Issue 95 for July 2003 has Powerdesk 5 on CD 2. Just installed it on my PC. Alternatively, on the PCA site go to Downloads, Utilities, File Management, and on Page 2 you will find Powerdesk 5 for download.
