COMPARE FILES : how do you proceed ?

Long ago there was a DOS command called "comp".
If only someone had an ancient DOS file; and would email it to me.....? (if that is allowed under pcadvisor rules)

I wanted to compare 2 exact-same files on my 2 different computers. Both named Msgsrv32.exe .
One causes troubles-- the other doesn't.

But even if I found a slight difference; how could I exchange them? you see, I cannot delete or even re-name the errant file.

Details of the trouble and when it happens, along with the operating system, might help others give assistance. Unless both machines sre identical it is unlikely to be the actual file that is causing the problem e.g. see click here

Try repairing the faulty file.

COMP is still available in WinXP. Open a command prompt and type HELP COMP or COMP /? for the usage and syntax.
