Compaq iPAQ Bluetooth activesync problem

  asw 03:45 11 Oct 03

I have an iPAQ which used to sync with my old Dell laptop OK via a plug-in USB bluetooth device. I've just upgraded to a Sony Z1RSP laptop with built in bluetooth & although I can get a connection and transfer files between the laptop & iPAQ I can't get activesync to connect/recognise the connection at all.

Been at it ages now and run out of ideas. Anybody had the same problem and found the solution?

have you tried the following:

1. take ipaq out of the cradle. 2. click start and go to ActiveSync 3. Click on Tools on botttom left hand corner. 4. Click on Options. 5. Make sure a Tick is in the Enable synchronisation when cradled and that bluetooth is enabled and not USB.

I had this problem with mt Toshiba when i had to reset it and it wouldnt sync, it defaults to bluetooth for activesyncing so i had to change it to usb.

also have you updated your activesync from click here

hope this helps
