Comodo Antivirus causing problems

My laptop came with Comodo pre-installed. I have been trying to download Adobe Flash player without success and I now see that Comodo was stopping it from downloading/running. How do I get Comodo to behave and let the reliable Adobe get on and install? I thought I might temporarily stop Comodo so I could get the download through but there does not seem to be a way. I tried in Task Manager but was told disabling Comodo was not allowed. There are a host of settings but all described with terms I do not understand. As a last resort, I might uninstall Comodo and rely on Windows Security Essentials. I am running Windows 7 on my laptop.
