Command Prompt Missing From Accessories

  Press Man 15:14 03 Jul 07

Hi Guys,

Friend of mine wanted to use the command prompt, went to accessories but the command prompt icon is not there nor is windows explorer? He knows he can get command prompt from "run" cmd, just would like to know why it is not where it should be. Is there a way of restoring these two. Running XP pro fully updated. Thanks in advance.

You could try creating a short cut to cmd from C:\WINDOWS\system32 and drag n dropping it in Accessories. The same for Explorer C:\WINDOWS

If you use the Windows key + E, it will bring up Windows Explorer - much quicker as well than going through the Start menu.

The cmd.exe short cut in the Start menu is %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe
