Colour Calibration - Can I get any closer?

  toxin 14:57 15 Jan 04

XPHome, Taxan monitor, Canon BJC8200 printer, using JetTec compatible ink tanks, and with intrchangeable scanner cartridge.

Software: Photopaint8 and PhotoImpact8.

Did a little experiment recently to see how close the 3 hardware items matched, by printing a multicoloured test page, scanning it, saving as ajpg, and then comparing this with the original jpg.

In both software programs I obtained RGB values with variations of -0.7 to -1.0% for all colours apart from true black which gave a variation of -7%.

Is this a good calibration of all 3 devices, or can I get any closer, and would it be worth trying to.

Any thoughts? Toxin
