Coldpay X&Y

Heard the latest Coldplay album in my mate’s car and was impressed.

Went straight to Tesco and bought it.

The problem is it won’t let me put it on my ipod. It seems the copy protection is preventing my CD drive from recognising the CD.

I'm cheesed off as I only really ever listen to music on my ipod. (with a young baby it's difficult to have music playing when I want to).

Is there any way - legally - I can get itunes to put it on my ipod??

RIP the cd using windows media player 10 then copy the music to youre player

Thanks Mike

When I out the CD in the drive nothing happens.

When I explore it says there is not disc in the drive.

How do I RIP the tracks in this case?

Just done it with my CD of X and Y
All I did was insert the CD opened Windows Media player then click on Rip should be second TAB along if you use media player 10

No joy - It asks me to insert an audio CD.

Don't a bit of looking around and I don't think all versions of the CD has this copy protection.

Any other ideas?

Thats all I can suggest sorry, but seeing as you have a legal copy of the CD surely you can download it illegally

But look at the rules with the CD……….Coldplay's new CD X&Y has rules; No MP3s, no DVD players, no car stereos.

I know about that dmc (after looking around the internet belatedly) but there is no such insert in my CD.

Thatslife. Currently in the UK it is illegal to copy your CD even for your own use. You can’t really expect anyone to aid and abet.

dmc I do not condone copying CDs illegally in any way. I just feel the record company is stitching me up as I want to use my ipod to listen to the cd I bought.

Maybe ipods should be made illegal too.....
