Code 31 - Modem won't connect.

Am I right in thinking that Code 31 means there is no driver installed? I can't seem to find a definition anywhere?

Thats a realy informative answer from M/S
Wonder who writes the stuff ??

This device is not working properly because <device> is not working properly. (Code 31)

The <device> is the device that your having trouble with.

Or another device maybe causing the problem to which Device manager should show.

Did you install a driver? Is this a new modem you just installed?

As Powerless said have you a problem shown in the Device Manager, this will tell you if you have a driver installed and will give the option to install one.

For the record go to Start>Control Panel>System>Device Manager, look for an ! beside an item, ie your modem, double click item and you can check the status of the device.

You could post back with a bit more detail of the situation and you will find many willing helpers
