I am at present having a long long session with Microsoft with regard to Vista update not downloading KB938371 I can not update to Service pack 1 without this download. In the instruction from M/Soft they tell me to open the CMD then I type in "regsvr32/s winstrust.dll" and then click O.K.There is NO O.K. to click and if I tap the Enter key I get a repeat of a line wateing for me to enter the above"regsvr" etc etc what am I doing wrong or is there a key which is equivalent to O.K. ?? Please help.

"regsvr32 <space> /s <space> winstrust.dll"

Although the /s switch is supposed to mean `Silent`, so no dialogue boxes should appear. You can probably omit it.

Try restarting in safe mode (tap F8) and installing the file from there.

"/s - Silent, display no message boxes"

Run the command without the /s (but retaining the space after regsvr32)

Oh and the filename is

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

Is it because Sam Gee has included an extra S in the filename?
