I've been asked to temporarily shut down AVG Anti-Virus before Trojan Remover commences a scan.

How do I do this?

The only thing i can think of and not sure if it shuts it down completely is.Open AVG.Right click on Anti-Virus.And click on ignore component state.
Remember when you have finished using Trojan remover go back to AVG and reverse what you did. That will activate it again.

To disable the Resident Shield:
Open AVG User Interface.
Double-click on the Resident Shield.
Un-tick the option Resident Shield active.
Save the changes
