Cloning XP Home to new HDD Dual Boot

Can anyone help: Dual boot system as follows:
C\: Drive (80Gb) Windows XP Home - Disk 0
G\: Drive (320Gb) Windows Vista Home Premium – Disk 1

I have a new 500Gb HDD which I have installed to replace the C\: Drive and OS.
I am using Acronis TI 10. When I clone the C drive everything clones (copies) perfectly, BUT when I try to reboot without the “old drive” connected it won’t boot to Windows XP. I get an error message telling me that a “file \ ntldr” is missing or corrupted, insert OS disk and repair MBR. (Tried that and it doesn’t work).

I know Vista boots differently from XP but I don’t know where or how the information (MBR) is being stored. I have tried creating the clone from both XP and Vista as the host but get the same results.

Am I missing something very simple? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks for the link Fruit Bat /\0/\, sorry didn’t mark this as resolved sooner, been away for a couple of days. Just for information, the way I got this to work was by downloading and installing Vistaboot pro from here click here. It is now working and new HDD installed (and cloned).
