Cloning serial hard discs

I run Win XP SP2 with SATA HDDs and have Norton Ghost 9.0 installed. I want to add a 2nd HDD and clone the first so that in case of problems I can switch to the 2nd drive and clone back. I have done this very sucessfully with Win 98 and ATA drives as the ATA drives have master/slave jumpers - no question of who is No 1! But I understand that serial drives are different and both have 'equal status' How can I ensure that the drive I require is tha 'master'?

I use Acronis True Image not Ghost,I have twin sata's but no prob I just save an image not clone & restore as usual.I dont install TI just boot with the TI cd & do all from there.
