Clock and date changes

My PC very often changes the time and date to a time in 1999 when I log on.I have reset in windows and also in the bios.
Any suggestions please.
Using Windows XP Pro with SP2

Sounds like the Cmos battery is flat. How old is the PC?

The battery is the most likely culprit but one other possibility - do you click Apply before OK (ing) any changes you have made on the calendar/time panel?
