Clip board keeps dumping stuff into themiddle of text that I am typing

Imagine typing a text- say to here.

You want to copy/paste a reference in the body-

Having done that you continue with the piece,only to find the item pasted earlier will plant its self randomly here and there, necessitating careful editing before completing the piece.

So why does it happen - and how can it be prevented?

You're not accidentally hitting 'Control + v' rather than 'Caps + v'?

If it is everytime you type the letter v that would suggest that your Ctrl key is stuck or sticking down and not releasing properly after you have pressed it.
