click one link - download another?

  barryoneoff.co.uk 18:45 12 Sep 04

Is this possible? I want a visitor to click a text link to copy an image to their hard drive.

I dont want them to click the actual image, as I am trying to prevent hot-linking, and the image will be background.

To put it simply, if they want the image on their hard drive, they click the title underneath. Possible, or not?

Cheers, Whiz...

I think the easiest way to do this is to put the image in a zip file and link to that!

On my site I have a download folder with any file that I want my customers to look at, mainly proofs. All I do is put a normal hyperlink in targeted to the file in the folder.

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

If I have got the wrong end, you could make the text a graphic and make that a 'hot spot'

In simple terms, I want them to click one link to copy another image to the clipboard.

Complicated, I know.
