Cleaning unused disc space

I have a second (Slave) hard drive and decided to clean the unused disc space usind "Eraser". This resulted in all my restore points for my main (C:) being wiped. How is this possible?, I have in the past wiped C: using Eraser with no problems, and did not lose any restore points on that drive. The question in my mind is if I am wiping D: and losing part of C: how does that come about. Free space on D: seems to me to have nothing to do with C: drive. To the best of my knowledge System restore is not savig to D:, altough it monitors both drives. Can anyone clarify this point for me.
