Cleaning up Outlook Express

I have several hundred emails in my OE Inbox. I have archived these onto CDs but now want to empty my Inbox - but leaving the 50 most recent emails (1-50). If I 'select all', I can instantly clear the box totally (including 1-50) or I can delete from 51 onwards one at a time (which will take eons). Is there anyway that I can select email 51 and beyond for immediate deletion whilst leaving emails 1-50 in the Inbox?

Thanks for your help

Click on the first one you want to delete then whilst holding down the Shift key either use the down cursor key or scroll down to the last one, using the scroll bar, and click on that, then delete.

Have you created extra folders in OE? I doubt all the emails are on the same subject or from the same person.

To create new folders right click on 'Local Folders' click on 'New Folder...' and make folders for different subjects or senders.

If you already know this it might be useful for somebody else.
