Cleaning an LCD screen

My great nephew has managed to leave paw prints on my LCD monitor, whilst hardly noticable when in use they are clearly visible when the monitor is switched off. I know that anything containing solvents are out but what is the best method of removing said prints. Any help would be appreciated.

What was on his hands?

His hands were clean so it would only be the normal finger prints, sweat so to speak, nothing sticky or anything like that.

You can get cleaning wipes and they are designed for cleaning LCDs, I got a spray out of LIDL I think it was and it does the job nicely.
ALDIs do the wipes I think.
You could also have a look in the likes of Woolworths as I'm sure I have seen the wipes there.

My local electrical retailer sells them as well I think.

I use a soft lint free cloth slightly dampened with water which contains a drop of washing-up liquid

Microfibre cloths are available and not expensive. See, for instance:

Baby wipes - the water based ones. They have a tiny amount of detergent in them - just enough to clean with.

Be careful not to use the baby lotion wipes which are oily.

Also, moist toilet wipes will do the job as well - Tesco's own brand are the ones we use. Cheaper than screen wipes. Gently polish with a soft cloth.
