I intend to sell a computer which holds a lot of personal info what`s the best way to clean all the drives should I format or is there a better way?

at click here . there's a few on there, most with reviews, some are free, some you gotta buy, not sure which one would be best myself, but reading the reviews on that site usually gives a pretty good idea as to what to use.
hope this helps

May I put my spanner in
All the advice given is as far as I am aware software that will overwrite everything on a disk a quadrillion times thus obliterating all before it
Fine- it will do what it says on the packet.

But we are also aware I am sure that those that know
can get all sorts back by various means- Hence those of evil intent being caught out by the authorities and of banks and other institutions 'losing' your/my personal info.

IMHO the only safe secure way of preventing others from accessing your precious data is to destroy the drive- with a big hammer and sell the rest for parts.
