at the moment 250Mhz Cyrix MIII,64KB 1° cache,512 KB 2° memory cache,

Main circuit board NEC FR520 1.0, BIOS :American Megatrends 00.01.21, slot for 256MB , 26 MB insatalled memory.

What chipsets can I upgrade to without changing the Mobo..or is it advisable to change them both?

Sorry to be negative but with your current set up the only option that will give you a noticeable improvement is a new mobo, CPU and Ram. You will however also need a new Power Supply Unit (PSU) as your cuurent one will be underpowered.

as bremner said, new mobo, cpu etc.
