Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a new monitor, and am looking at the two below. Any thoughts or reccomendations welcome. Thanks in advance.

Couple more similar ones (24", 1080) to consider perhaps for lower prices:

BenQ G2410HD (DVI, but no HDMI) click here | £135 click here

BenQ G2420HD (with DVI & HDMI) click here | £150 click here

What will you be using it for? E.g. games, serious graphics work, must have good viewing angles, & anything else you can think of. And what kind of connectivity do you require? G

Crossbow7,

Thanks for your suggestions, I will investigate.

Use will be for a combination of what you mention, plus watching movies. I have both DVI & HDMI connections on my gfx card (Sapphire 4770), so if I get a monitor with both I have the options!

I have just purchased this monitor from Dell and couldn't be more satisfied. Excellent.

You don't say how serious your graphics work is, or if viewing angles are very important not.

If you definitely require both, then a TN-based screen is not for you - you should be looking at PVA & IPS-based screens for this. The downsides are they don't come cheap (£200 for 22", £400+ for 24"), & they mostly do them in non-1080 resolutions - you'll get 1650*1050, 1920*1200 & so on. The only one I know of that presently has both features is a 23" Samsung F2380 click here for ~£220. G

Crossbow7,

Graphics is only for photograph enhancement etc. As for viewing angles, I am mostly directly in front of screen, so may not be so important!

As you've confirmed neither is very important, you'll be fine to go in for a TN screen then. G

Thanks guys, a bit of research required before deciding.
