Sorry but as I consider getting an up to date cptr I'm a little confused. A lot of packages have combi units whilst others seem to suggest that one should have two separate drives. Can anyone give me their recoomendations and why, please?

Hi hatrickj,i would always go for the seperate drives.I once had a combo & it prooved to b unreliable & also the main reason i wouldn't have a combo is if one part packs up it can b expensive to replace the whole drive.Drive prices r down now so to buy a dvd-rom,cd-rom,writer or even dvd writer is a mere pittance to a few years ago. Some people say having a combo saves space in their pc but i would stay on seperate drives.hope this helps
