Chkdsk

I have WinXP Home and when I run this program I get the message that Windows found errors but will not repair them because disk checking was run without the /F(fix) parameters.I must admit I do not understand this but would like to know what one does to correct the matter in this situation.

chkdsk D:/f /r

Note the single space between f and the following /. G
