I've decided to try Generic non-brand compatible ink cartridhes for my Epson 830U as I only use this printer for documents anyway.

What's the differenvce between 'chipped ' and
'non- chipped' compatible ink cartridges please ?

My experience is that non chipped are sometimes not recognised by printer. Also, ink monitor will not work.

I have been using for some time new compatable cartridges which are chipped from click here. Guaranteed for 12 months, cheap and quick delivery. I have had no probs whatsoever with this ink/company.

I have an Epsom C84 Photo. The ink is pigmented same as Epsom originals.

Unfortunately, the difference between chipped and unchipped cartridges in your case doesn't matter. The Epson 830U will only take chipped cartridges. I get mine from Choice Stationery at click here buy the Double Quad Pack and you get 4 black and 4 colour for £25.49.
