Checkdisk every startup

  Jomi 18:44 15 Jul 05

Everytime I switch my pc on I have to cancel checkdisk or wait till it completes.
Anyone have any idea why this would suddenly happen?

Thanks for the suggestions/links,
I tried the microsoft solutions as follows:

There was no entry for checkdisk in the scheduled tasks list.

The registry path got as far as 'session manager', the next part should be 'bootexecutive' but it wasn't there.

I'm very dubious about trying the recovery console, is there anything elese I could try first?

click here may help with the Recovery Console.

Thanks VoG,
I'm probably just lacking in a bit of confidence (as well as knowledge) to try this.
Maybe I should bite the bullet, backup and reinstall windows.
