I want to put Windows 7 Home Premium on my daughters computer which has Vista Ultimate at the moment on a HHD. I plan to put windows 7 on an SSD drive in my computer(to save time) and then put the SSD drive in my daughters computer. Can I do this from a licensing point of view or can I only load Windows 7 onto the SSD once it is in my daughters computer?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Windows 7 configures itself (installs drivers) according to what is connected.

So it has to be in the correct machine.

The licensing is only an issue in that you need a W7 license key that is not being used on another machine.

ie you can't just use your license key. Her Vista key is not valid for W7 either.
