Changing Windows Explorer settings default

  pienter 22:19 02 Sep 08

I prefer to see Windows Explorer content in the form of details rather than thumbnails, but the programme defaults to thumbnails even if details has previously been selected. Is there any way of changing the default?

Thanks VoG. Your link proposed increasing the number of memorised folder settings from 400 to 5000 but this had already been implemented by XP SP2. However this link led me to another Microsoft article ID 812003 which advised selecting a folder with the desired view then choosing Tools/Folder Options/View/Apply to all folders. This appears to have solved my problem.

You need to change to Classic Mode. Go to tools\options
