I can't find out what graphics card my friend has.
I need a driver for it so i can run it in more than 256 colours. Is there a way to find out.
I've tried everything and the computer dosn't know!
Is there a away to make it run higher without a graphics driver?

Any sugestions apprecaited.

Thanks

Download Belarc Advisor, it should tell you which card is installed, dowson. click here

belarc advisor will tell you what components are in your pc click here you should then be able to determine what driver you need

If it's running at 256 colours, are you sure you can't up it to 16-bit with driver it's using at the moment? Go to Control Panel > Display > Settings tab and click the "Color Quality" dropdown menu.

Dont know if belarc will tell you if there no driver installed it may just say standard graffix belark gets info from the drivers already installed but worth a try.Is it onboard graffix? if so should be a clue in the mobo manual,if it not it going to take a bit off research lol.Try looking on card itself sometimes get a clue there.

Regards.

One of the initial boot screens before Windows loads usually reports what video card is fitted. If the screen flashes past too quickly, try hitting the Pause key.

Info from other source. it work in windows 98/xp

Start run type Debug click ok
in window, type d c000:0 as shown (noughts not letter o)Then press enter

This is to get to the bios of the video card.

Look for Initials or name of card (could be in last line)
