I have just done a clean install of XP and rather embarrassingly I have spelt my name wrongly when during the install it asked for a name, now all my docs etc come up with the wrong name I have tried changing it via the regedit route but this hasn't worked anyone any idea how to change the name?

This changes the MS Office registered name etc.

Also within MS Word you can change Author name under Tools.

Hope you, find something there.

Merry Christmas,

Zak

You can change the name of the account as Devil Fish says but this won't change the name that appears on the folder in Documents and Settings.
The only way to change the name on the folders is to create a new user with the correct name and then login to the new account to create its folders. Now create another account for temporary use and login as that user. You can now copy all your documents, etc from the old account to your new one.

Thanks for the replies. I have setup a new account and deleted the other one as I had not changed much I didn't bother saving my profile. Thanks again
