I am connected now via ethernet cable to router as its only 10" away from computer, I am going to change ISP soon . I want to keep using ethernet cable--question is--will I need to remove all reference to present ISP before I set up new ISP.
I understand the wireless set up and will use that through house but its just the cable bit I'm not sure about?

No you can keep your old ISP settings as long as you make sure your computer defaults to your new router when you install it.
It is better to delete your old ISP settings when your new one is up and running.
